Section ZZ (continued) <br />Page 2 <br />4.06 Topsoil <br />The existing disturbance at Red Canyon is pre-Iaw <br /> <br />No topsoil has been saavaged. <br />4.09 Disposal of Excess moil and Underground Development Waste <br />Waste is presently being disposed of in old strip pits to the east of the mine yard. <br />Eventually, during the first five-year permit term, Grand Mesa propdses to construct a <br />bench at the ba:>e of the refuse disposal area and construct a waste ,pile which will extend <br />to~near the crest of the hill above the strip pits. Overburden excavated from the old <br />strip pits will be used as cover, and available topsoil will be salvaged prior to disturbing <br />areas above the present extent of the refuse disposal. Details of the construction and <br />reclamation time=table have not been finalized, but will be resolved prior to issuance of <br />the permanent p;~ogram permit. <br />4.15 Revegeta7:ion <br />Due to tl~e predominately south and west exposures and Lack of topsoil, revegetation <br />of the site wi1~. present a challenge. Past stabilization seedings have not been completely <br />successful and may have ~o be repeated in the fall. <br /> <br />
