•• •, • •
Chemical Treatment (1997) - Weeds have been eradicated and the
areas that were open are now filled with gravel piles. Access
is limited but there were no noxious weeds found at time of
inspection.
Monitoring (1998) - No noxious weeds found in June at time of
inspection. Hoary cress, Canada thistle, and common burdock
were treated in late July. Canada thistle and common burdock
rosettes were treated again in late September. This was a
very high moisture year and plants, especially weeds, took
advantage of the moisture. There were 5 flushes of weeds this
year, which made it very difficult to treat at optimum times.
This gravel pit will continue to be monitored and treated as
needed on a yearly basis. Areas that are not continually
disturbed will be revegetated.
Summary:
The area will be monitored and treated until the gravel pit
has been reclaimed and released from the Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology.
The responsibility of controlling any future noxious weeds
Will be the landowners after the County's permit has been
released from the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology.
