General Comments
This was complete inspection of the Red Canyon Mine which remains under a
Division approved temporary cessation of operations.
All mine records required to be on file at the mine were available at the time
of the inspection. Records checked included the permit document, permit
application with subsequent revisions, NPDES permits and reports (1 discharge
point), hydrologic monitoring information and professional certification
documents for the sediment pond and refuse pile. The recently completed pond
extension work has been certified by the operator.
The mine identification sign was in place and contained all required
information.
The road drainage system was functioning properly at the time of the
inspection. Berms were in place where needed, ditches were relatively free of
debris and culverts had been cleaned out recently.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
