IV. Enforcement Actions
The following identifies enforcement actions taken during this inspection, the
required abatement and date of abatement for the violation. previous violations
still requiring abatement and the termination of violations cited during previous
inspections.
AND
4.05.5 Sediment Control Measures.
120(2) (1)
(j)(II) designed,
121(2) currently
(i)(II)
(e)
through disturt
Appropriate sediment control measures shall be
constructed, and maintained using the best technology
available to:
Diverting runoff using protected channels or pipes
red areas so as not to cause additional erosion;
(f) Using straw dikes, rlprap, check dams, mulches,
vegetative sediment filters, dugout ponds, and other measures that reduce
overland flow velocity, reduce runoff volume, or trap sediment;
Abatement: Ditch C-1 must designed and constructed to handle the anticipated
flow without downcutting. Either the grades should be reduced, or the channel
lined with rip rap. The runoff the east side of the facilities pad should either be
rerouted or have a suitable drop structure installed. A revision must be
submitted to revise the ditch and facility pad drainage design to control erosion.
This revision must be submitted before April 26, 1993. The revised design shall
be constructed no later than May 31, 1993.
2) The second portion of this violation applies to the section of access road east
of the south end of pit no. 1 at the crossing to pond E (see figure 2). During
the inspection melt water was noted running down a the track In the road
between points A and B. There wasn't a designed ditch on the east side of the
access road points C. A ditch at points C and a culvert at point B would keep
water off the road. A 24' culvert at the pond E drainage crossing had an 8 foot
section broken off at the inlet (point A).
Rule 4.03.2(4) requires Access Roads to have adequate drainage.
Marr Strip 5 April 6, 1993
NOTE: Attach appropriate VIOLATIONS OR CESSATION ORDER CODING FORMS
Revised: 4/88
Doc.
