III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below aze comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. These have been repaired in the past and should be monitored for additional <br />erosion and instability. The start of these to rills east of the shrub plot is shown in <br />Photograph Numbers 17 and 18. <br />Topsoil <br />Four former topsoil stockpile locations (D, E, F, and G) in the North Pit have been fully <br />reclaimed. These sites aze stable with good vegetation. A photograph of former Topsoil <br />Stockpile F is shown in Photograph No. 19. <br />Reve etation <br />With exception of those azeas noted above, the North Pit is generally well vegetated. <br />Significant rainfall over the past several months has been very beneficial. A photograph <br />of the shrub plot and surrounding well vegetated area is shown in Photograph No. 20. <br />One significant patch of thistle was noted at the east bank of PM-13. Please continue to <br />control growth of troublesome weeds throughout the site in accordance with the Weed <br />Management Plan prepared for the Yoast Mine. <br />Reclamation Success <br />The reclaimed area of the North Pit has been restored to the approximate original contour <br />of the pre-mining landscape. Slopes generally aze in agreement with approved post- <br />mining contours as shown on Post-Mining Topography Map, Exhibit 20-2 and on Exhibit <br />C of the Phase I bond release application. Drainages have been reconstructed in the <br />appropriate locations and remain stable with exception of mid-upper PM-13 and upper <br />PM-10. Several erosional features aze evident and they will be excluded from the bond <br />release. <br />6 <br />
