Area 8 refers to roads and pads that were disturbed but on which no wells were drilled. <br />These were reclaimed contemporaneously in 2000, thus have had an additional year for <br />establishment of vegetation The regrading of these areas was very good, with use of the <br />shrub islands to guide the grading as noted above. Revegetation varied Some individual <br />spots were grazed very heavily and others showed excellent cover (in a couple cases, 60% <br />or better, by visual estimate.) Several examples are shown in photos: <br />The area designated as Area 7 includes the entry roadway into the main thermal event area <br />and a slope above the main pad area. The area contained eight drillholes; their locations <br />were marked on the surface with brass caps. The grading of the area fit back into the <br />original topography very well. The road had been used as a mator thoroughfare for cattle so <br />was trampled. The vegetation had withstood the grazing rather well, but the demonstration <br />must be made to manage the area without alternative sediment controls. Photo shows the <br />roadway and a portion of the slope comprising area 7 <br />
