Bowie No. 2 C-96-083 <br />Pg 3/3 14 Sept 04 ~~J <br />Support Facilities (cont.): -The lower water tank bench was stable and showed no <br />erosional problems at the time of the inspection. <br />-The bench for the substation by and for the coal preparation plant was stable and <br />had no erosional problems at the time of the inspection. <br />Topsoil: -Topsoil stockpile A was well vegetated and stable at the time of the <br />inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on the pile. The topsoil stockpile <br />sign was in place. <br />-The topsoil stockpile by gob pile 1 was well vegetated and stable at the time of the <br />inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on the pile. The topsoil stockpile <br />sign was in place. <br />Air Resource Protection: -The operator was watering the haul road to the gob piles, <br />the portal benches and the coal preparation plant bench during the inspection to <br />help control fugitive dust. There was no fugitive dust problem at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />-There was no fugitive dust problem at either the upper or the lower (main) coal <br />stockpiles. <br />-The operator was loading train cars at the time of the inspection and there was no <br />fugitive dust from the operation. <br />Bond Compliance: The main focus of this inspection was the bond compliance <br />portion. On the inspection pond sizes, bench areas, road lengths, the gob piles, coal <br />stockpiles and facilities were measured. All of the measurements were done with a <br />Trimble GeoXT handheld GPS unit with TerraSync software. Data processing was <br />completed using Trimble's GPS Pathfinder Office 2.90. All data points were field <br />corrected using integrated WAAS and post-collection processed using a <br />Compasscom Base Station.
