Excavation activities appear in all three pits (East Pit <br />photographs 6 and 7; Section 16 Pit photographs 10 and 11; and West Pit photographs 12 and <br />15. Backfill operations are described above. Coal haul activities appear in photographs 17 and <br />18, and coal loadout (a train being loaded) activities appear in photographs 17 and 18. Support <br />facilities appear in photographs 2 and 12 All these activities (and facilities) appear to be in <br />compliance with the permit. <br />SLIDES AND DAMAGE No slides or damage appear in the photographs. Of special interest was <br />the recenHy dressed slopes above the East Taylor pond (visible in photograph 13). No slide or <br />damage appears to have developed in the West Pit fill (photographs 1, 14 and 15), in the <br />Skeeter fill (photographs 3 and 4), or in other areas of mining operations. Some (natural) non- <br />mine{elated slides in undish>rbed (from mining activity) areas of the permit area appear in the <br />East Taylor Creek drainage (photograph 13). <br />EXCESS SPOIL AND DEVELOPMENT WASTE See slides and damage above. Excess spoil has been <br />placed in the Streeter, West Pit, and Section 16 fills. Only the West Pit fill is still receiving excess <br />spoil.
