The emergency spillway is a <br />riprapped channel. The spillway was stable and in good condition. <br />-Sump 2 contained water approximately one foot below the top of the sump at the <br />time of the inspection. The sump was recently cleaned out by the Bower Brothers <br />(with the material hauled to the West Pit) and was stable at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />-Sump 3 contained water approximately one foot below the top of the sump at the <br />time of the inspection. The sump was recently cleaned out by the Bower Brothers <br />(with the material hauled to the West Pit) and was stable at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />-Sump 4 contained water approximately one foot below the top of the sump at the <br />time of the inspection. The sump was recently cleaned out by the Bower Brothers <br />(with the material hauled to the West Pit) and was stable at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />-Sump 5 contained water approximately right to the top of the sump at the time of <br />the inspection. The sump was recently cleaned out by the Bower Brothers (with the <br />material hauled to the West Pit) and was stable at the time of the inspection. <br />- The West Pit Pond (NPDES 008A) contained water below the gated valve and was <br />not discharging at the time of the inspection. The presettling basin at the inlet of the <br />pond contained water about three feet below the spillway to the West Pit Pond. The <br />pond embankment was well vegetated and stable at the time of the inspection. No <br />erosional problems were noted on the embankment at the time of the inspection. <br />The emergency spillway is a riprapped channel. The spillway was stable and in good <br />condition. <br />-The East Taylor Pond (NPDES Ol OA) contained water approximately six feet below <br />the top of the discharge pipe and was not discharging at the time of the inspection. <br />The West Pit at Section 4 is blocked and contains all of the water from this pond's <br />watershed. The pond embankment was well vegetated and stable at the time of <br />the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the embankment at the time <br />of the inspection. The emergency spillway is a riprapped channel. The spillway was <br />stable and in good condition. As noted above, the discharge from the West Pit <br />under the MINDI Permit will be routed into the outfall just below the flume. The <br />flexible hose is routed along the side of the East Taylor Pond and over the <br />embankment. This hose has not been secured to the ground in any way. <br />-The Gossard Pond (NPDES 003A) contained water approximately three feet below <br />the riser pipe and was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond <br />embankment was well vegetated and stable and there were no erosional problems <br />noted at the time of the inspection. The emergency spillway is a 12" culvert. The <br />Gossard pond was just cleaned and the sediment and coal fines were dumped in <br />the West Pit. <br />-The Rail Loop Pond (NPDES OObA) was inaccessible at the time of the inspection due <br />to a train being loaded. Tony indicated that this pond was cleaned as well. <br />
