West Side of County Road 53
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
Culverts
The three culverts at pond 003 are clear, are in good condition, and do not show gullying at their
outlets. The northernmost of the three culverts has 5 gpm of clear water flowing through it from the
pond.
The culvert beneath the gate at the west entrance also has 5 gpm of water flowing through it.
Sediment eight inches deep has accumulated in the outlet end of this approximate 30-inch diameter
culvert; there is no sediment in the inlet end.
Sedimentation Ponds
Pond 003 is discharging approximately 5 gpm. The pond's inslopes and embankment are well-
vegetated and stable, and are not Bullied.
Seeps and Springs
S5-1 is flowing an estimated 5 gpm.
REVEGETATION
The areas where ponds 001 and 002 were reclaimed were seeded, fertilized, and mulched with hay
this spring and now have been mowed. Both areas are dry and apparently had abundant grasses and
forbs growing before mowing. It appears that some of the thistle that was growing in this area went to
seed before mowing.
-a-
