III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham and Jim Stark of the Colorado <br />Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) The weather was cool and breezy. Ground <br />conditions were dry. This inspection was incidental to an inspection that occurred on this day <br />at the adjacent revoked GEC site (#C-81-037). Henry Austin of the Office of Surface Mining <br />was also present <br />Revegetation <br />As noted in the inspection conducted earlier this month, Forest Service personnel were <br />observed planting shrub transplants on the refuse disposal area. During the inspection of <br />the GEC site, the group noted that shrubs had also been transplanted on the reclaimed <br />portal area. Photographs were taken from above the portal area. The group also stopped <br />and inspected more closely, where additional photographs were taken.
