Elk Creek C-1981-022 <br />18 June 2007 <br />pg 3/3 ~j <br />Support Facilities: -Both the Sanborn Creek and Elk Creek Mine facilities areas appeared <br />to be stable at the time of the inspection. All of the material storage areas at the two facilities <br />areas were in good condition at the time of the inspection. No erosional or other problems <br />were noted at either of the facilities areas. <br />- The downhill conveyor from the Elk Creek Portals to the coal stockpile was stable and in <br />good condition at the time of the inspection. No erosional or other problems were noted on <br />the conveyor corridor. <br />Topsoil: -The Elk Creek topsoil pile was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the <br />time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the pile. The topsoil stockpile <br />sign was in place at the time of the inspection. <br />-The topsoil stockpile for the It-West Valley Fill had some vegetation and appeared to be <br />stable at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the pile. The <br />topsoil stockpile sign was in place at the time of the inspection. <br />Air Resource Protection: -There were no problems with fugitive dust on any of the haul <br />roads, from the coal stockpile or while loading the train at the time of the inspection. <br />-The coal stockpile appeared to be at a normal level at the time of the inspection. <br />Off-Site Support Facilities: -The Hubbard Creek fan pad was stable at the time of the <br />inspection, The site was sprayed for weeds last month (and Kiger indicated that they would <br />be sprayed again this summer). No erosional problems were noted on the pad at the time of <br />the inspection. The B-Seam injection wells all appeared to be in good condition. <br />Overall, the Elk Creek and Sanborn Creek Mine site is in good condition. <br />
