COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action
This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of Minerals
and Geology. The Rimrock Mine consists of approximately seven acres of reclamation. The
2004 growing season is the eleventh (11) growing season after reseeding. Since last
inspection, the site has received abundant moisture. Locally, rainfall amounts nearing two
inches were recorded in the last week. The ground was muddy and the weather was cool and
breezy.
~drolog~c Balance
The single sediment pond at the site was found dry. which implies that the soil was extremely
dry and had significant holding capacity for the moisture that fell in the last week. The pond
still has significant sediment capacity remaining. What little vegetation there is on the rocky
embankment was beginning to sprout.
