I am providing a response to several of the compliance
comments in the inspection reports identified above.
Bryan Duff of Goff Engineering and Surveying and I are working together to implement
on-the-ground repairs to the compliance items noted in the inspection reports. We will be
meeting on October 27 and 28, 2003 to supervise the work. It is anticipated that repair
work will be completed by October 31, 2003.
As Mr. Duff will serve as the new resident agent for the Cazbon Junction Mine, I will also
be inspecting the records he receives from Four Corners Materials for completeness and
will supply any missing documents.
September 24, 2003 Inspection Report
The North Pit Access Road will be regraded as necessary to ensure proper drainage.
Culverts will be inspected and cleared or repaired as necessary. _
While reclamation at the Carbon Junction Mine has temporarily ceased, Oakridge Energy
is in compliance with the reclamation schedule approved by CDMG in TRll and
presented on pages 5-32 and 5-33 of the permit. As stated above, a contractor has been
retained to correct the minor compliance items noted. We take issue with the CDMG
statement that "nothing is being done to maintain the site."
Any area on the previously reclaimed spoil area that appears to be impounding water or
have the potential to do so will be regraded to ensure no water impoundment will occur.
