Although not final graded, Terrace Drain #4 has <br />been "roughed in" along its entire length. Lower terrace drains and bench outslopes were well <br />maintained and no problems were apparent. <br />No problems were observed at the RSRDA. Operator indicated that Lower Catch Ditch #2 <br />would be regraded as specified in NOV 97-016 Abatement Item #5. Various locations along the <br />South Diversion +vhich had been cited in the NOV were viewed in response to the operator's <br />contention that the Division had assumed inappropriate vegetation cover class in recent ditch <br />design reviews. \Vhile around cover percentage appeared to be consistent with Division <br />assumptions (40-60"/~~, it was noted that cover was provided almost exclusively by low growing, <br />shallow rooted annual species; primarily cheatgrass and Russian thistle. The Division will <br />consider this t~tcror in reevaluation of the ditch designs. <br />Revegetation/V/ildlile <br />As noted in previous inspections. North Decline areas ripped and reseeded in the fall of 1996 <br />were dominated this gro+ving season by cheatgrass and annual weedy species, as is typical for a <br />first }'ear seeding. Development of the stand will be evaluated over the next several growing <br />seasons. Deer and elk sign +vas abundant in the North Decline area. Chukar partridge are <br />frequenth~ observed in the North Decline area and CRDA-2 reclaimed areas. <br />
