The sedimentation on terrace
benches due to sheet flow from outslopes remains to be cleaned from the terrace
surface. This material should be cleaned from the benches to establish positive
terrace drainage to the adjacent downdrains. At this Lime, the operator has not
regraded the operational surface of the refuse pile.
Support Facilities
The hoist wheel at the West Mine remains a short distance east of the hoist house
foundation. One hoist reel from the east mine was observed loaded on a flatbed
truck and the truck left the site during the inspection. The batch weigh loadout
system has been sold and a crew was on-site dismantling the facility. According
the Mr. Steele, about 9,000 tons of coal remains in the coal silos. The rail line
bisecting the mine is also being removed fur sale or scrap. Crews were noted in
and arround the mine site loading rail onto flatbed trucks for transport.
No further demolition of the West Mine warehouse has occurred since the last
inspection.
4
