Repair work was underway on the embankment of pond 9 on the afternoon of the inspection. <br />Embankment repair, spillway repair, and resetting of the weir box below the primary outlet <br />are necessary Repairs at pond 8 have been completed, with the exception of some coal <br />sample holes dug in the Primero coal seam within the disturbed area of the pond. Kati- yd . ,. t1~ <br />'Pond 6, Lorencito, September 2004 <br />Suaaort Facilities <br />The loadout. office area, and service area appear unchanged from previous inspections. <br />Non-coal related activities continue immediately west of the loadout, outside of the permit <br />boundary. <br />Overall, the mine appeared in good condition for the late summer. <br />Repairs to internal ditches and perimeter ditches have also been completed to the extent <br />possible using a tracked excavator. A dozer will be returned to the site from the New Elk <br />mine (C-81-013) to complete this work. The operator has committed to finishing all necessary <br />repair work by October 31, 2004. <br />
