COMMENTS-COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made dunng <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Chimney Rock Mine for the 3"' quarter, 2002. <br />RECORDS: NOV CV-2002-013 issued for failure to provide to the Division or maintain at the site a <br />certfcate certifying that the applicant has a public liability insurance policy rn place was termmated when <br />the Division received a copy of the policy, however, the certificate WAS NOT in place at the mine site. <br />Additionally, current hydrologic mondoring data and year 2002 inspection reports were not at the site. See <br />page 5 of this report for further details. IF THIS SITUATION IS NOT CORRECTED BY THE NEXT <br />COMPLETE INSPECTION, ADDITIONAL NOV'S WILL BE ISSUED. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: NOV CV-2002-012 issued for failure to maintain structures and drainage <br />systems to control erosion, specifically the double culverts draining the East Pit area, is being terminated <br />(see photo) effective August 15. <br />i e., <br />r <br />+'S' _ l <br />;~~.,} l~G~^I <br />i (Y` ~ <br />r'.' fi~:,.'Vk,~ <br />J arP <br />GENERAL MINE COMPLIANCE: The site is stable at this time. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site has suffered a great deal this summer due to the drought. <br />
