The existing ramps up to portal #3 are both
steep, and appear to allow significant sediment to move during spring thaw. Any new roads and ramps farther to the
south, or existing ones modified, might include water bars or "rolling dips" to control such drainage problems.
Revegetation was discussed. The proposed plan calls for use of imported topsoil for seeding and planting on all road and
bench areas. It was suggested that revegetation test plots be established, to determine what amounts of topsoil, if any,
may be required for vegetation establishment. Waste rock fines, amended by fertilizer and/or organic matter, may be found
to be sufficient for attaining the reclamation goals at much less expense.
There were no other items observed or discussed during the inspection. No problems were noted regarding the proposed
operation.
For all questions or responses to this report, please contact this inspector at the following address or phone: 484 Turner
Dr., Bldg.
