III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Water was pooled in the sediment pond several inches above the level of the gated primary
discharge pipe. There was evidence of recent sediment deposition at the pond inlet area. The
pond embankment appeared to be stable, with no indication of seepage.
The upland diversion around the sediment pond and soil stockpile area had been regraded
shortly prior to the most recent storm runoff. There was minor rilling in the channel. The upper
segment of the re-graded ditch had been seeded and mulched. Additional seeding is
warranted to complete the job, and to replace the seed that was likely washed out of the
channel by the recent flow.
Topsoil and construction dirt stockpile SAE silt fences appeared to be properly maintained. The
office area silt fence requires maintenance. Sediment has built up to a level close to the top of
the silt fence. Material has apparently recently been scooped out with a loader, but a ridge of
sediment remains immediately adjacent to the silt fence. The fence may need to be pulled out
and re-set following cleanout, or a new fence installed.
Reveoetation
Minor grading and stabilization seeding was recently completed as requested on the portions of
the construction material stockpile that was disturbed last fall by borrow for material to be used in
pond embankment reconstruction.
