III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Water was pooled in the sediment pond several inches above the level of the gated primary <br />discharge pipe. There was evidence of recent sediment deposition at the pond inlet area. The <br />pond embankment appeared to be stable, with no indication of seepage. <br />The upland diversion around the sediment pond and soil stockpile area had been regraded <br />shortly prior to the most recent storm runoff. There was minor rilling in the channel. The upper <br />segment of the re-graded ditch had been seeded and mulched. Additional seeding is <br />warranted to complete the job, and to replace the seed that was likely washed out of the <br />channel by the recent flow. <br />Topsoil and construction dirt stockpile SAE silt fences appeared to be properly maintained. The <br />office area silt fence requires maintenance. Sediment has built up to a level close to the top of <br />the silt fence. Material has apparently recently been scooped out with a loader, but a ridge of <br />sediment remains immediately adjacent to the silt fence. The fence may need to be pulled out <br />and re-set following cleanout, or a new fence installed. <br />Reveoetation <br />Minor grading and stabilization seeding was recently completed as requested on the portions of <br />the construction material stockpile that was disturbed last fall by borrow for material to be used in <br />pond embankment reconstruction. <br />
