Processing Waste
The refuse disposal area was clearly visible in one of the photographs. The four
bench outslopes appeared unremarkable and vegetation looked uniform with no
evidence of failure. Close inspection of the downdrains indicates some erosion of
the channel lining 1/3 to ~ the way down on both the eastern and western
downdrains. The operator should evaluate the extent of this damage and take
necessary measures to prevent any possible further damage that could jeopardize
stability of the refuse pile. This erosion appears to be further evidence of a
significant storm event at this site in the last few weeks. The DMG will make an
on-the-ground inspection the week of August 4`h
Slides and Damage
The development waste pile and other areas did not reveal evidence of any slides
or damage due to recent storm runoff. A small puddle of water was visible on the
re-spread area of the development waste pile. This small amount of water would
not appear to be a threat to stability.
Overall, the site appeared in good condition for the summer season.
4
