(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1985-219
INSPECTION DATE: 8-30-04
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal monitoring program established by the Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology. The 32 Road Pit is located at 32 and C 1/2 Roads in Grand Junction, Colorado. Alan
Parkerson as representative for Parkerson Construction accompanied the inspectors on site.
The 32 Road Gravel Pit is an active 112c permitted site. Several stockpiles of aggregates are located within the
central part of the pit. Also noted was a large pile of landscape boulders imported from one of Parkerson's other
permitted sites. Excavation continues towards the east in the area added in Amendment AM-Ol. The inspector
noted dust control included sprinklers and a paved access road. At the time of the inspection, no excavation was
observed so the effectiveness of the dust control measures could not be assessed. Power poles noted in the
amendment process for relocation have been moved to their new areas. The general Mine Plan appears to be being
followed as approved.
The mine identification sign and affected azea boundary markers aze in place and incompliance with Rule 3.1.12.
Reclamation efforts to date are centered on a pasture area that has been released. Visual berms and slopes in this
azea must remain un-reclaimed until the end of the mine life. Slopes along the south edge of the pit aze stable.
Some tamarisk is noted along the pit edge. The operator should consider control measures to ensure that the
infestation does not affect other areas of the pit. The infestation is small in nature and not considered an issue at this
fime. Guidelines on the treatment pazameters for tamarisk will be coming out soon to assist operators and
inspectors. New and immature growth will most likely be the biggest focus so early treatment is advisable.
No stormwater, erosion or off site issues were noted at this time.
The reclamation bond was recalculated in May of 2002 with the approval of AM-Ol. Current conditions do not
warrant a recalculation at this time.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME: Alan Parkerson ^ BL
OPERATOR: Parkerson Construction ^ FS
STREET: 710 S. 15~h Street ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Grand Junction.
