<br />I. General Comments (Continued) <br />5. It was noted that a new HS flume will be installed at the outlet to <br />Pond #1. This flume will be used to measure discharges at their NPDES <br />monitoring point. <br />6. Anew 12 inch CMP was placed adjacent to the guard shack. This culvert <br />replaces the six inch conduit that routes runoff from the coal pile to <br />Pond #4. <br />7. The Division will soon be making a decision on what mitigation measures <br />will be needed along Hubbard Creek where coal was washed downstream during the <br />unusual spring flooding (see June 1984 inspection report). The operator will <br />be notified of the decision by separate ]etter. <br />8. Mr. Mitchell indicated that they probably will be rebuilding the mine <br />bench to correct stability problems as well as install a new larger culvert at <br />Hubbard Creek. <br />9. The operator was advised that since the Pond #3 and #4 had to be rebuilt, <br />recertification would need to be done by an engineer. <br />
