The problems should be corrected by the <br />dates given, or they will become possible violations. The possible violations should be <br />corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered by the Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all <br />corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />The approved mining plan for the operation indicates that <br />no mining wi1:L be conducted below groundwater elevation and <br />materials wi1:L not be removed within at least two feet above <br />groundwater e:evation. The significant ponding of water in <br />two excavated area within the permit area, however, indicates <br />that groundwater may have been exposed by the mining operations. <br />The permittee must provide evidence that the areas of ponding <br />do not represEant groundwater exposed by the mining operations at <br />the site or comply with the conditions of the permit and <br />backfill the :areas of exposed groundwater to a point two <br />feet above thfa level of the groundwater or submit a <br />modification t:o the permit that allows the exposure of <br />groundwater by and during the mining operation and, if desired, <br />allows permanent ponds to be established in conjunction with <br />final reclamation of the site. <br />CORRECTION <br />DATE <br />12/1/99 <br />PB OR PV: PB <br />TOPIC: MP, HB <br />
