(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ~~-~ Qv~-'~~6 <br />INSPECTION DATE: 'i/]11/0.5 INSPECTOR' S INITIALS: KAP <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This inspection was conducted as part of the 4-year monitoring program conducted by the Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford and Harry Posey, DMG, Greg Knell <br />and Jason McGraw, Robinson Brick Company, and Brad Mueller, Siloam Stone, Inc. Weather at the <br />time of the inspection was clear, windy, and approximately 45 degrees. <br />2. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries are marked. The site is a joint venture <br />between Robinson Brick Company and Siloam Sfone, Inc. Siloam Stone is removing the upper, rock <br />layer from the mined area, and Robinson Brick is removing the underlying clay layer. The affected area <br />consists of a slot with a highwall along one side that is being mined, paralleled by a reclamation face <br />that Siloam Stone is backfilling as mining progresses. The reclamation slope originates on a pre-law <br />disturbed area, much of which has been backfilled and graded but still requires topsoil and seeding. <br />The reclamation face consists of a graded slope that will continue to be filled as the highwall progresses <br />along the direction of mining. <br />3. Stockpiled material that Robinson has excavated is located above the excavation on an adjacent <br />area that abuts the Pinion Mine -permitted by Siloam Stone. Activity at the site appears to fall within <br />the guidelines of the permit. The current bond amount of $28,000 appears to be adequate for <br />reclamation of the site.
