PAGE 2.
VALCO INC. - LAMAR EAST PIT
FILE N0. M-77-572
1. a. The mining method and proposed mining method are the same as
filed in the orginial plan as stated on page 6.
b. The depth of extraction will remain the same as tFe orginal
permit states on page 7, but for clarification it is to mean
that we will attempt to extract material to the depth of
shale, wherever that depth may occur. A Technical Revision
is requested here if you feel it is necessary, and also the
fact that dewatering could occur at the mine site and that
Valco has obtained a NPDES permit for such a purpose for this
pit. The permit number is CO-0500006.
c. There are no immediate plans to relocate the river channel,
therefore we do not feel that we need to address this matter
with a Hydrological Study at this time. Should that plan
become more immediate we will see that all necessary steps
have been taken to comply with required laws.
d. The change in the mining Timetable is attached. It includes
all stages including technical revisions.
e. The total affected land acreage remains the same 3s with the
the orginial permit and the addition of the technical revisions
which is a total of 79.92 acres.
2. The new proposed reclamation timetable is attached.
3. The Financial warrany recalculation will be provided to you
as soon as possible. We are still waiting for requested
data from a local contractor.
I hope the attached information provides what you need. Please let me
know if there is additional data needed.
Sincerely,
George R. Gregg
General Manager
