. This was a partial inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on of Wednesday, May 7,
2002. This site itself was busy. The inspection was accompanied by Kathy Welt of Oxbow
LLC.
Work had started already on the corridor for the temporary conveyer. The approval had
been delivered the previous afternoon. We reviewed the approved corridor, with flagging in
place. Work was also proceeding on the permanent conveyer. Holes (shafts) had been
prepared the hardware was being assembled. The schedule for completion of the
permanent conveyer is September of this year.
_~` ~ .wwwY :Tlil_
4 `. ~~
.4 ;,, ~ t .~, ~; .
Coal waste was being emplaced in the West Valley fill. A sheepsfoot roller was on site
compacting the material as it was emplaced and spread. We discussed the drainage of the
clear water ditch from above the fill and the Oxbow stall will work on a satisfactory solution to
the routing of the south limb of the ditch acrosslaround/past the access road. Design work
will soon begin on a waste pile location to succeed the current West Valley fill.
Material has not been spread on the east yard gob pile. It had been piled there, but has
been awaiting drying before it was spread.
The road up to the drill sites was in very good condition. We discussed the ultimate
disposition of that road. It was apre-existing road, but the USFS wants it to remain. We
discussed the possibility of installing some permanent drainage features on this light-use
road if it is to remain in perpetuity.
The borrow area was stable, with just some minor sloughing of material.
