anuary 6, 2000 „
Mr. Ron Johnson
Western Land Surveys, Inc.
39 KayCee Lane
Durango, CO 81301
RE: FORET LAKES GRAVEL PIT
Dear Mr. Johnson:
• FOREST LAh~ES
METROI.OLIiAN
DISTF:ICT
Thank you for the time spent with me today reviewing the original survey work on the referericed project
performed by your company for the previous owner, Southwest Properties. As discussed we would like a
proposal including a time frame from your company to provide services for the following scope of worl(:
Establish and mark with lath the original easUsouth boundary from the intersection of the wastewater
treatment pond south lot line to the edge of the Wommer ditch right-of--way on pit #2 per your original
job number 84116 dated June 20, 1984.
Mark with lath and update drawing to reflect the cement "disturbed area" along the east/south boundary
of pit #2 in relation to the 1984 survey. If a difference between original line and "disturbed area" exist,
calculate area. Pit #2 has an addfional .74 acres available as noted below.
Mark with lath and update drawing with area to southeast of the original southeast line of existing pft
#2 which will be considered for an amendment to the existing gravel permit not to exceed 9.99 acres
total including the existing pit #2 from the 1984 survey and the .74 acres moved from pit #1. Actual
acreage to be considered will probably have to be determined at the time of survey.
In the 1973 Beebe.Property survey done by Clark-Thomas it established the pit s¢e total at 7.74 acres
which is where the permit acreage must have come from. I also found in my file that the 1984 survey was
of the "disturbed area° as stated in a letter from Southwest Properties (SWP) to the' Mined land
Reclamation Division. Also in this letter which was written after the 1984 survey work, SWP asked and
received a technical revision to the permit moving .74 axes from pit #1 to pit #2 which is not included on the
1984 survey.
We are compiling this information to provide to the Division of Minerals and Geology under our gravel
permit # M-1981-158 with some time constraints and ask for your response at your earliest convenience.
Please contact me at 884-2925 ii' you have any questions and/or require additional information.
Sincerely,
Dale Kortz, Manager
s fvwe".edo~.~.
cols
P.().
