yi
III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
All of the culverts and ditches at the mine site were functional. However, the ditch between the
entrance road and the contractor's area will need redefining soon. Silt fence and straw bales were
up azound the mine site and were functional.
The two seep areas above the portal bench were wet and water was flowing for a short distance.
Topsoil Stockpiles
There were no signs of erosional gullying on any of the topsoil stockpiles. Straw bales aze in
place to retain sediment. The recent addition fo the main topsoil stockpile has been seeded.
Topsoil stockpile signs were present.
Gob Pile
There were quite a few small piles of gob on the back side of the gob pile. When enough material
is present, the small piles will be incorporated into the gob pile. The top of the gob pile was dry
and had positive drainage. Diversion and collection ditches were functional. The west side
drainage was cleaz. The culvert and Swale at the entrance to the gob pile were functional. There
was no erosional gullying on the gob pile outslope. The underdrain was exposed at the rear of the
gob pile.
S1QI15 and Markers
Mine ID signs were up at each entrance and where the permit boundary crosses the public road.
Mine information was correct. Surface disturbance mazkers were also up along the disturbed azea
perimeter. It would be a good idea to put up a few more surface disturbance markers azound the
new disturbance south of old highway 133.
Roads
The paved main haul road was in good condition. The guazd rail was in place. With the
anticipated completion of the conveyor and reclaim system in December of this year, most of the
haul road traffic on this road will be eliminated. The haul road to the gob pile was in good shape
Z
