Sediment in the pond <br />appeared to be at an acceptable level. The inlet channels and outfall areas were <br />stable and well maintained. <br />Both water storage ponds held water bek~r the indicated high water level. Pond 2 had <br />plants growing through the liner, Indicating there could be a hole in the Uner. The <br />operator needs to inspect the liner and make any necessary repairs. This should be <br />complete by October 31, 1997. <br />The refuse area ditches were in good condivon. The culvert at the crossing from the <br />accesslhaul road to the refuse pile needed to be Leaned out. This should be done <br />tmmediatey, and prior to the need DMG inspection. <br />The Magpie Creek Dfversbn was stable and in good condivon. Debris from the <br />storage areas had blown into the channel and should be removed. <br />The straw bales that treat dreinage off the e~losives storage area pad needed to be <br />replaced. Silt had been depoaiMd to within a couple of inches of the bale tops. The <br />diversion ditch around the pad was in good condition, and grass was emerging in fhe <br />ditch bottom. Fk>Mr from the Newlin Creek site has coasted a guly over the e~losives <br />storage area road, and deposited a considerable amount of sand In the shrubby area <br />on the north side of the road. <br />Proo~ssino Wish <br />No refuse was being placed in the refuse pile dudrq the inspedbn, as the processing <br />plant was being maintained. l.llts which had been completed appeared to have been <br />constnx~ed In compliance with the approved permit and the regulations. <br />I~vrpahtlon <br />Kent Crofts, oonsuRant for EFCI, was conducting vegetation monRoring on the refuse <br />pile. Vegetation on the pile appeared to be In good condivon, and no new erosional <br />features were observed. Previousy identified gullies were becoming vegetated. <br />Daniel Adamic, a landowner of the majority of the loadout area, was present during the <br />inspection. Mr. Adamic informed DMG that he is pleased with the reclamation work <br />performed at the loadout, and had no objections to the release. <br />Mk:hael Maricua, of the City of Florence, also was present during the inspection. Mr. <br />Markus represented the tMerests of the City of Florence regarding the proposed Oak <br />Creek reservoir. The reservoir, ff oonabuded, would Inundate the west side of the <br />loadout.
