Apparently he has not received a report on Snyder yet. After reviewing the
reports I found a few items on Pikeview that requve some clarification. Following are our
comments on those items. All of the comments regard your statements with respect to Area H.
• 1. You state that "... curtently, a portion of Area H is being mined ..."
Comment: Although mining is occurring within the area called Area H as defined in
the amendment, this mining is occurring consistent with the existing permitted plan rather than
the new plan. Under the current plan the area being mined is to be excavated to about the same
level as the plant to the east. That has been achieved and the mining is now extending
southward. It could be construed from the inspection report that Castle is proceeding with the
amended plan. I'm sure you did not mean that, but it was felt this needed to be clarified.
2. You state that Castle will "... mine Area H to a depth of about 150 feet ..."
Comment: Although this is a fine point and probably of little significance, it should be
noted that Area H will be mined to a maximum depth of about 150 feet. A large portion of
Area H will be mined to a depth somewhat less than 150 feet.
iii iiiiiiiiiiiu iii
sss
•
