Dept. of Natural Reso;;~cP~ <br />Following the May 6, 1981 inspection and the receipt of your May 12, 1981 <br />letter, we have reviewed our activities at Logan Wash and made plans for <br />future action. Our response to the specific questions in your letter is <br />as follows: <br />1) When seed was purchased for the seeding activities last fall, we were <br />unable to obtain all of the seed types listed in our plan. The seed <br />types we were unable tr~obtain have been ordered early to assure supply <br />for our fall seeding activities this year. Grasses and fortis will be <br />planted as in the plan unless supply problems are encountered. Any <br />changes will be dealt with as minor technical revisions and cleared <br />with you prior to seeding. <br />2) An updated "Exhibit E" is being prepared using the most recent map. I <br />anticipate that this should be completed by mid July. The detailed <br />plan for each area of disturbance will be expanded upon in the update. <br />3) You were concerned about the source of topsoil for several areas. The <br />plan is as follows: <br />a. Area 4 (1978 submittal) - Research mine bench and dum -The mine <br />muck was all dumped on the sout facing slope on what was an exist- <br />ing talus slope. The remaining bench was constructed from the exist- <br />ing material, in which there was some topsoil-like material. The <br />portion of fill not composed of mine muck will be drawn up and <br />utilized as topsoil-like cover. <br />b. Area 7 (1978 submittal) - Equipment and parts storage area - The <br />topsoil for this area is still in place. Details for future use <br />will be in the update. This area was never used to the extent <br />anticipated. <br />c. Area 8 (1978 submittal) - Raise bore and ventilation fan site - The <br />existing topsoil was used as fill and erm prior to 1978 and has <br />been protected by grass cover. More details on this site will be <br />included in the update. <br />
