...,
Trinidad Basin Mine
Revoked -DMG administered
Trinidad Basin Mine
C-048-81
Complete inspection
2/8/2000
Mitch Rollings, OSM
Kent Gorham, DMG
This was a complete inspection of a mine where the permit has been revoked and the
reclamation bond has been forfeited. Reclamation has been completed with highwalls
eliminated and the area returned to approximate original contour.
Pond 15-P12 has a wet bottom, but no standing water. The 6" plastic pipe appears to be
plugged. Pond 15-P11 has a small amount of water standing in the bottom. Ponds Pl
and P10 have been reclaimed. Pond P2 is the private pond just south of the county road.
Ponds 22-P10 and 22-PS still exist out the contour access road.
The south end of the part of the mine south of the county road has some erosion down
slope due to concentrated flows from the reclaimed area. The reclaimed area itself looks
fairly good.
No off site impacts were observed.
