The company and MLRD may choose to remove part of the <br />embankment and leave this pond since the vegetation is well <br />established. <br />The ll2 mine is also scheduled for a final release next year. An area <br />of highwall approximately 30 feet in height and 150-200 feet in <br />length remains. Information I have received indicates this mine was <br />active up until 1982 when reclamation was done. Given the above <br />information, the highwall which remains should have been eliminated. <br />Since the area has received a phase 1 and 2 bond release it appears <br />there may be some unknown reason the highwall remains. OSM is <br />requesting that MLRD research the situation and provide a response. <br />OSM will delay any action until the MLRD response is received <br />providing it is timely. <br />MSEIR: Those blocks in item 25 marked with a "3" are not applicable <br />and those left blank were not checked <br />
