III- Comments/Compliance
This was a complete inspection conducted by Jim Burnell of CDMG on Thursday. June 8
and Friday, June 9. 2006. Weather was sunny and mild with a thunderstorm developing
Thursday afternoon. The mine site was gwet.
The road to the mine site was in good condition. The gate was locked and the sign has
been updated for the new location of the mine records.
The Pit 1 area in the north area of the mine showed good revegetation over most of the area
- sufficient to prevent erosion and sediment loss There is one bare spot on the floor of the
area not far from the road There was no sign of instability or erosion on the slopes. There
was scattered thistle along the drainage channel (ditch PD-3) in the middle of the gulch.
The culvert beneath the road for ditch PD-3 was clear as was the entire length of the ditch.
Pond G was dry and the dam and embankments were stable. Both the discharge structure
and the emergency spillway were clear. The gate to the pond was open. The culvert
beneath the road was clear. The topsoil and subsoil piles for Pond G were stable and signs
were in place.
Pond F was nearly dry - a small puddle remained (see photo.) There was no sign of erosion
along the pond inlet and the dam itself was stable and sparsely vegetated. No cracks or
burrows or erosion on the dam.
Nl,
~~~~,, ~'
tf n~~, ^. ~ ' K. .1M
.. w,l. ~. ~~ ..
