• (Page 2) • <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-85-211 <br />INSPECTION DATE 02/02/00 INSPECT'OR'S INITIALS ESC <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was an inspection of the Berthoud Pink Quarry conducted by Erica Crosby of the Colorado <br />Division of Minerals and Geology. Neil Sprague was present during the l+nspection. Weather <br />conditions on site were clear and warm. Ground conditions were dry. <br />The Berthoud Pink Quarry is located approximately 1 mile south of Car er Lake in Larimer <br />County, Colorado. The 110 permit was issued to Neil Sprague on Ap it 24, 1986. The <br />permitted affected area is 9.9 acres in size. No mining was takin place during the <br />inspection. <br />The affected area is divided into the north and south quarry. The north ~arry has a permit <br />area of 6.89 acres, but only 3 acres has been affected to date. The nort quarry is divided <br />into two separate pits and each contains a working deck and overburden m~terial. The stone <br />quarried from this site was used in the construction of Folsum Field. <br />The south quarry is permitted to affect 2.75 acres, but only one acre h s been affected to <br />date. The working bench contains a majority of the material that will ~e used to backfill <br />and grade the site. <br />The Division currently holds a bond in the amount of $5,000.00. C.R.S. 39-32.5- <br />117(4) (c) (I) (a) states that the Board may increase the amount and dura ion of a required <br />financial warranty to reclaim the site. The Division estimated the c st to reclaim the <br />Berthoud Pink Quarry to include backfilling & grading, revegetation, and mobilization/ <br />demobilization to and from the job site. The Division's estimate ased on the site <br />conditions and permit requirement totals $12,000.00. The operator has thefollowing options; <br />1. Post an additional $7,000.00 within 60-days of receipt of this report. <br />2. Complete some reclamation on site. <br />3. Revise the reclamation plan. <br />A mine identification sign was posted at the <br />could not be identified in the field.
