IIt. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made dunng the
inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken dunng the inspection and the facts or
evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of CDMG. This former underground
mine is reclaimed. Remaining buildings and structures are approved to remain as permanent
structures. Ground conditions on this day were extremely dry and the weather was mild and
windy.
Hydrologic Balance
No appreciable runoff from snowmelt or rainfall has occurred over the last six months. The lone
sediment pond is nearly dry. The operator may want to consider cleanout of this pond to meet the
requirements of Rule 4.05.17 for permanent structures.
The south access road ditch has down cut approximately two feet in a short section. The
landowner has attempted to arrest this erosion with dirt and brush. At the next opportunity, this
ditch should be re-shaped to design specifications. This
area is reasonably well vegetated and likely does not require sediment control measures. The
operator should remove and dispose of the silt fence and supporting roof bolts.
Page 3
