Baba ere commmb m 16e e,pxYm The cammeeb bride &rtarim or obeane0on sJe mq i6e mpeehm Cmimeeb eho dmmbe my
edorcmeet ecYme telaa duq ~ o'pegim d Id 6ae a swdeeee rgpio{16e mfaeraeot aim
v.
AI oT the ddches at the mine ales were in cornW~Qe. At of fire V ditches were at kart 2 fee! in
depth, wHch Is more than the design requirements. Okctnes D-C8, D-C9, D-C10 and D-C14 were in
place and had the correct trapemidal cross section, with a Mnimnm bottom width of 8 feet, 2 foot
depth arW 2H:1V ddesknpes, as roqulrod. These dtctnes wsro rtprapped with a D50 of appro~drrratey
2 feet. Ditch D•B17 needs to tns extended on Map 21-1 to raAlsd that the dkch sndends itattner to the
north, akxnp the haul road.
The topsoil stoci~ik Hdjacent t0 pond C wag property 9iQ1ed. Sorrne vepetati0rn 19 ~WVinQ. t'IOWeWer,
the dod~ik etnouW be seeded to ensuro a protective cover. A protective berm also should be put
around the pik until the vegetation establishes itself better.
Tha larger of the two topsoil stockpiles adjacent to pond B needs to be seeded and also needs a
topsoil sign. The protective ditch around the pile needs to be continued to the front oTthe pile. No
erosion was seen on the pik.
The smaller topsdl dodrplk near pond B was properly signed. A protectlvs berm or slk Tencs needs
to be placed around the docl~ik, both upgrodient and dawnpradieM of the pik. No erosion was
seen on the pik.
Tlx main topsoil pik did not show signs of gutying. A protective dHch and bens wero on the
dowtngradient side of the gib. The sik lance associated with that protective ditch needs to be
trenched In better. A low spot in the ditch wit need to be watctned to see 'rf water backs up and
breeches the dflch. There is a portion of dkch D-B15 that nns apairxd the side of a HI, k is unclear if
1Hs HI is part of the topsoil pik or just an undisturbed area. If the ditch naa ayalnd the topsoil pik,
the side of the pik nKrst be protected from erosion. A rile fence was being Instated on tine northeast
side of the pik.
The er>bro topsail docl~ik needs to be seeded. Also, them arc some culverts that have been placed
on top of the stocl~ik. AI equipmenk and other mira materiak must nd be placed on the pik. On
the west side of the pik the road drainage from uppradient must be redirocted away from the topsoil
protection ditch. UpQadient of the entlro pik. a bens or ditch nest be constructed so that upgradient
nnoff does not wash onto the topsoil gib. Flnaty, two measurements of slops steepness were taken
on the south side of the main topsail stodrpik. At nidpoint oT its length. at the location of the sik
fence, the slope was 28 degrees. A stops of 2Z degrees was measured at a point 100 feet to the
wed of the tird print.
Thera was only a ittk water in pond B. The paled granary was closed. The rtprapped inlet was
stable. Pond trnslopes and otntsiopes aro barer but no gulytnp was observed. The emergency
spilway was functional. The pond embanlument appeared to be stable.
Pond C also had a Itlls water in it. The ou2slope had been reworked to a 20 deyros slops. TM pond
inslops, however. needs some corrpaciirng. The surface was ragh and loose. The spilways wero
Turctlorwl.
(3~
