III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
The spring discharge was analyzed in the field for temperature, pH, and conductivity. The
ph/conductivity meter was calibrated in the field immediately prior to taking the field
measurements. Measurements were made at two locations: 1) from the discharge at the end of
the pipe, and 2) from the immediate area of discharge neaz the east side of the slide mass, before
the spring flow enters the pipe. The results of these measurements aze listed below:
End of Pipe Discharge -Flow= 37.5 gallons per minute, Temperature= 86 degrees Fahrenheit,
pH= 6.96, Conductivity= 5,080 micromhos
Discharge Directly from Spring -Flow not measured, Temperature=87 degrees Fahrenheit,
pH=6.45, Conductivity= 5,190 micromhos
Su~oort Facilities
As part of the ongoing reclamation effort, please continue to remove the trash and debris that has
accumulated east of the former shop building.
Reclamation Success
The Bear No. 1 and Beaz No. 2 reclaimed areas were inspected as part of this complete
inspection.
