Mr. Lee Bailey of Bowie Resources offered to supply the <br />pipe for the diversion. Mr. Mitchell requested that he approach Terror Creek personnel <br />without anyone from the state or county present Everyone agreed. <br />In a telephone call to Mrs. Mitchell on November 20, 1997, the Division was informed <br />that Terror Creek personnel had agreed to the diversion project. On November 21, <br />1997, the Division informed Mr. Lucy of the agreement <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Jce Dudash of Colorado DMG. Bill Bear <br />Jr. represented the operator. <br />~~ <br />The entire length of the main haul road, from Old Highway 133 to the portal bench, <br />has been paved. The operator is installing guard rail. The operator needs to install a <br />stop sign at the entry to Old Highway 133 and make sure that haul trucks do not enter <br />the highway by swinging wide into the opposing lane. The operator may do some <br />brush and tree clearing in order to improve visibility at this intersection. The haul road <br />from the main haul road to the future gob pile has not been graveled yet. <br />The access road from the portal bench to the water tank area has been established. <br />The conveyor corridor access road is still being worked on. <br />Culverts and Ditches <br />The grate covering needs to be placed on the concrete drop structure at the inlet of <br />culvert C-B18. Map No. 21-1 needs to be corrected to show that culvert C-815 is <br />oriented from the southeast to the northwest, rather than from the southwest to the <br />northeast. <br />Culverts C-C1, C-C2 and C-C3 have recently been installed on the east side of the <br />water tank area. Culvert GE1 and ditch D-E1 at pond C have also been installed <br />recently. There were no problems observed with the culverts and ditches in the field. <br />Sedimer>tation Ponds <br />The primary discharge tube gate valve at pond C was open enough to allow a small <br />stream of water to exit the pond. The discharge vtras clear. The pond water level was <br />at the top of the primary tube. The stream of water collected in ditch D-E1 for a <br />distance of less than 100 feet The operator closed the gate valve. The operator was <br />advised that the intent of the regulations is that any discharge from a pond, even if the <br />
