III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Fish and Wildlife: Although no wildlife was seen at the site at the time of the
inspection, there were signs that deer and antelope had been on the site recently.
There were about 125 cow/calf pairs grazing on the site at the time of the inspection.
Revegetation/Reclamation Success; Overall the 720 Pit, Pit 1 and the Marr Pit areas
appeared to be well vegetated and in good condition. The grasses were beginning
to grow and start to turn green but the new growth appears to be slower because of
the very dry winter and spring. The area appeared to be very dry for late spring. The
vegetation at the loadout also appeared to be in good condition. It, too, was
beginning to grow and turn green.
Overall the entire mine site is in good condition.
