Sorenson) Inspection Report ideaiifies 6 PB: pump removed from spray <br />evap_ system; new holes in liner; ao well permit (ref. DMG Itr of 2/5/96); missing <br />middle decant riser; others. <br />12 Aug. '96 In telecon with M. Steen COME (Mason) extends invitation to mill management to attend ~ <br />October GHTM meeting far purposes of introduction of new mill management to ` <br />community and to give Gold Hill citizens as opportunity to hear first hand of any mill <br />operation pleas/expected changes and for an exchange of views. COME (Mason) intends <br />to repeat this invitation directly to mip personnel at the earliest opportunity. <br />October '96 Despite several verbal invitations to Mill personnel to attend the October GHTM <br />meeting, no Mill representative appeared. The Mill continues in apparent <br />shutdown, and informal conversations with Mill persomael indicate that this <br />shutdown wili continue indefinitely while development of Ftaaklitt's other <br />interests at the Franktia Mill and iJre Mogul Tummel complex continues. <br />4 Feb. '97 COME (R. Mason) returned a telephone call from John Minor, head of Denver <br />Machinery Co. and Franklin Mill. Mr. Minor reptrse~s that is now in the <br />conu~olling position with regard to the Gold Hill Mill. and that the former owners <br />{COM, Inc.) and their representatives Tatman and Hartley, are no longer involved <br />with the Gold Hill Mill. Mr. Minor is considering options for the mill, including <br />dismantling the facility and sale of the site as a passible homesite. He indicated <br />that he is receptive to any constructive suggestions from Gold Hill citizens as to <br />possible uses of the site. Anyone interetted in offering such suggestions should <br />forward same to Mr. Mason. He will arrange direct contact with Mr. Minor as ~ <br />appropriate. <br />March '97 COME (R. Mason) accomplished an abbreviated inspection of the mill area, <br />identifying two Conditions of concern. A) Samp pumps is tJre Hazel A edit <br />appeared not to be operating, and drainage appeatnd to be coming from the <br />alit mouth. B) The required spray evaporation system at the tailings pond <br />appeared to be in disarray and inoperable.
