Water in the Tipple Pond OOIA was being aerated. <br />Ditches had been inspected and maintenance accomplished by the operator. <br />No design or demonstration of an appropriate sediment control measure has been found in the PAP (see page <br />2.05-79) for the temporary belt structure storage azea (currently used for scoria storage) (Sheet 1 of 1, Map <br />24). This item was First identified during the inspection of July 12, 2004 [Rules 4.05.2(1), 4.05.2(3)(a), and <br />4.05.2(3)(b)(i)]. There was no indication at the time of this inspection that drainage from this disturbed areas <br />contributed additional suspended solids above natural conditions to, or did not meet water quality standards <br />of, receiving streams. <br />No design or demonstration of an appropriate sediment control measure has been found in the PAP for the <br />CYCC office area. This item was first identified during the inspection of July 12, 2004 [Rules 4.05.2(1), <br />4.05.2(3)(a), and 4.05.2(3)(b)(i)]. There was no indication at the time of this inspection that drainage from this <br />disturbed areas contributed additional suspended solids above natural conditions to, or did not meet water <br />quality standards of, receiving streams. <br />No design or demonstration of an appropriate sediment control measure has been found in the PAP for the <br />"Trudy's" comer storage and training azea site. This item was first identified during the inspection of July 12, <br />2004 [Rules 4.05.2(1), 4.05.2(3)(a), and 4.05.2(3)(b)(i)], and came about when Pond A, to which this site <br />drains, was removed from the Permit. There was no indication at the time of this inspection that drainage from <br />this disturbed azeas contributed additional suspended solids above natural conditions to, or did not meet water <br />quality standards of, receiving streams. <br />The rock check dam and sediment trap of the sediment control measure at the # 7 North Escape Shaft has <br />filled with sediment. This item was first identified during the inspection of July 12, 2004 [Rules 4.05.2(1), <br />4.05.2(3)(a), and 4.05.2(3)(b)(i)]. Corrective actions discussed on site during this inspection included cleaning <br />of the sediment basin, raising the rock check dam, or demonstrating the adequacy of conditions that exist at <br />the site. There was no indication at the time of this inspection that drainage from this disturbed azeas <br />contributed additional suspended solids above natural conditions to, or did not meet water quality standards <br />of, receiving streams. <br />PROCESSING WASTE <br />Coal mine waste was being placed and worked in the waste disposal pile in compliance with the PAP. <br />TOPSOIL <br />Vegetation cover needs to be re-established on the topsoil storage pile, silt fences re-erected, or other <br />protective measures taken at the North West Mains Ventilation Shaft site. This item was first identified in the <br />inspection of July 12, 2004. Nettleton advised during this inspection that the storage pile was scheduled for re- <br />C-1982-056.
