III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Overall, all of the SAE's inspected (all of the permitted SAE's on the site) are functioning
properly and are installed properly. There does not appear to be any sediment getting
off-site from any of these SAE's.
PROCESSING WASTE: The covering and topsoiling of the refuse pile has been completed. The
Operator has also completed the grading and topsoiling of the topsoil stockpile, cover soil
stockpile and borrow areas.
To soil: The entire mine site has been topsoiled.
REVEGETATION/RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The vegetation on the (previously reclaimed portion
of the) refuse pile was in good condition. There was an indication of some new growth,
however there is not much because of a dry winter and spring. The vegetation at the loadout
was similar to that of the surrounding areas but has not yet started to turn green. The
Operator has planted a cover crop on the area to help control erosion until final seeding this
fall.
