1 blue garbage container, filled with fluid drums
Photo 10a various pieces of dismantled coal processing equipment
Photo 10b 1 Chevy 5100 water truck
Photo 10c various pieces of dismantled equipment and debris
Photo 10d 1 International Loadstar 1600 tube truck, partially dismantled
conveyor, partially dismantled
Photo 11a 5 big equipment tires
various pieces of dismantled equipment and debris shown in previous photos
Photo 11c 1 coal related impoundment or stockpile pad in foreground
The improperly stored fluid drums, shown in Photos 1, 5b, 5c, and in the blue container shown in
photos 8a and 11a, must be relocated to an appropriate storage facility. Petroleum contaminated
soils, evident in Photo 5c, and potentially present under any of the equipment shown in the photos
must be appropriately handled and treated.
Observations made during the inspection and recorded in this report indicate that reclamation has not
been completed for the equipment bone yard portion of SL-02. All other areas addressed under SL-
02 appear to be located within the permit boundary of M-1992-116 and its associated reclamation plan
and financial warranty. Mining and reclamation activities at M-1992-116 appeared current and
compliant with permit conditions and the Construction Materials Act and Rules. Therefore, all areas
requested for release under SL-02, except for the equipment bone yard and associated affected
lands, appear appropriate for release from the Carbon Junction permit.
Portions of this report address issues at M-1992-116. Therefore, copy of this report, with maps and
photos, is being provided to the permit holder of M-1992-116.
Enclosure: 3 maps
21 photos
cc: Michael Savage, Savage & Savage
Marcia Talvitie, Four Corners Materials
