III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the Inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. Hydrology Pond B had a little water in it, below the elevation of the primazy discharge structure. The water level in Pond C was above the level of the primary dischazge structure, but there was no dischazge. The gated valve was closed on each of the ponds. Both Pond B and Pond C will need sediment cleaning soon. Pond D had a little snow melt water in it. Pond embankments were stable and spillways were functional. Culverts and ditches azound the mine site were functional. Straw bales and silt fence were also functional, although the bales at the mine site entrance will need replacing soon. Topsoil No problems were observed at the main topsoil stockpile. Collection and diversion ditches were functional and straw bales were in place in the notch on the down gradient side of the stockpile. The gob pile topsoil stockpile and the coverfill topsoil stockpile were also protected by straw bales. Topsoil signs were up. The new topsoil pile for the train loadout is discussed in the fast section of this report. Sims and Mazkers Mine ID signs were up at the appropriate locations and contained the correct information. Surface disturbance mazkers were up around the mine site. Surface disturbance mazkers need to be put up for the new disturbances at the train loadout construction site. Gob Pile The top of the gob pile was graded and compacted, except for a few small piles. There was positive drainage off of the top of the waste pile. The west collection ditch had sufficient capacity. The road culvert and Swale at the entrance were functional. Records The records were in compliance.
