Processing Waste
Inspection indicated that the contour ditches on the refuse highwall had been cleaned m the
recent past. The vegetation on the refuse highwall between the ditches is excellent for this
time of year. Numerous perenrnal grass species have become established and rills and
gullies are nearly gone. The combination of the contour ditches and the revegetation efforts
appears to have been successful in stabilizing this slope. The 100-year ditch was traversed
and in excellent condition. The operator should remove the roof bolts. sdt fence, and stakes
from the SAE area at the west end of this ditch. One seep near the base of the refuse slope
was noted in the same location as previous years. It normally dries up early in the summer.
- Contour ditches .;,-
.. ,.
~.~ A^' ~ ~ c1 ~ • ~~~'~~)~."r~ ICJ. _ t
+ • ~"~ ~. ~
,• TS
Refuse highwall and contour ditches.
