<br />July 26, 1993 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Mining and Processing (and other nonmetallic minerals except fuel). An applicaflon form for the <br />General Permit has been enclosed for your use. ('I9re form may be reproduced.) Please complete an <br />application for each site and submit is to our office by September 15, 1993. Note that your <br />application must include notice of preparation of a Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), as <br />described in Appendix A of the application. (Do not submit the plan itself.) A fact sheet describing <br />Colorado's Stormwater program has also been enclosed for your information. <br />If you fail to obtain a required stormwater permit and discharge stormwater from your site, you are in <br />violatiton of the Clean Water Act and are subject to enforcement action by the Water Quality Control <br />Division. The C1ean,.Watea Act authorizes both civil and criminal penalties for willful non- <br />compliance. <br />If you believe that a stormwater permit is not applicable to your operaflon(s), you will need to send us <br />a letter detailing your basis for this, by the above deadline.
