The boulder damaged the geomembrane in several azeas and potentially damaged
the Soil Liner Fill (SLF). After discussing this issue, the affected area was inspected and a follow
up discussion was held with CC&V's Project Engineer. The issue was resolved at that time with
CC&V proposing and committing to the following:
In order to minimize any future damage to the lower PSSA 100 mil double sided Linear Low
Density Polyethylene geomembrane that has not been covered to date with Low Volume Solution
Collection Fill (LVSCF), the following will be done:
Repairs need to be made on the lower PSSA liner before the liner can be covered with
LVSCF. PolyFlex mobilized to the Project site during the week of April 14. Once the
weather and conditions are amenable to repairing the SLF surface and geomembrane, the
SLF will be exposed in azeas that are potentially damaged. The SLF surface will be
inspected and repaired as needed and the geomembrane shall then be repaired or replaced
as identified by Polyflex as [he manufacturer/installer and Golder Associates Inc. as the
Quality Assurance and Quality Control Engineering Consultant. Repairs will be
documented in the certification report.
Once Golder has observed and documented the remediation to the damaged liner, LVSCF
can then be placed over the liner, protecting the liner from any future potential damage.
The 2 horizontal to 1 vertical (2H:1 V slope) slope between the 9624 and 9700 benches is
almost complete, with the slope between the 9700 and 9730 benches still requiring slope
regrading. Catch berms will be constructed or concrete jersey barriers installed as needed
to minimize the potential for rocks damaging the exposed lower liner. These structures
will be field fit and may be relocated as construction activities progress in this area.
Please contact me should you have questions or desire additional information.
Sincere)
~ hil am~
Manager Environmental Resources
