RPR.26.2001 5~10PM UNITED COMPRNIES N0.254 P.3
•
with any type of fuel at Delta. Both of these fuel tanks will be replaced by a
Heatec, lac. two compartment double walled tank, The second wall is intended to
I serve as the secondary containment structure for the tank. I am including a copy of
the specification sheet for this tank for your, review. The Heatcc tank is expected to
be delivered in the mid May time frame. As you saw during the Inspection, there is
I, very little possibility of losing fuel to the PSt 1 pond ar the river. Is it acceptable to
leave the 10,000 gallon capacity diesel fuel!taak as it is until the new task is
delivered in mid May? Will the fact that the new tank has self contained secondary
containment be an exceptable substitute for a plastic lined, earth berm secondary
containment structure?
Moving oa to other Problems listed in the Inspection Report:
A, Problem 3 -Nesting boxes. I contacted the Colorado Department of Wildlife for
information on goose nesting boxes. Mr. Ven Graham sent me Game Information
Leaflet 48, "Nesting Structures for Canada Geese". I have selected sites and we are
in the process of hiring a carpenter to build and install the 6 nesting boxes.
I
B. Problem 4 -Fertilization and revegetation. I have sampled the soil at the Black Pit
buffer berm and Grand junction Labs is aaelysing at the present time. I will
contact the Delta NRCS with the soil test results and get their recommendations.
Their recommendations will be the basis of bur fertilization and revegetation plans.
Answers, clarifications and suggestions will be gently appreciated.
Thank you,
Sincerely
Richard Johnson
Resource Manager
